Maureen discovered a path to her “middle way” in the fall of 2006 when she attended her first yoga class.  Her goal was to expand her exercise routine by incorporating stretching and muscle strengthening.  It was one of the best decisions she’s ever made!  Yes, she grew stronger and more flexible, but the rewards of yoga went far beyond what was happening physically on her mat.

Maureen’s teachers helped her understand that asana (yoga posture) was one available path to help her mind become more disciplined and stronger.  Excited by this discovery, she was motivated to delve more deeply and, in 2009, she became a certified yoga teacher.

Maureen believes that we each possess a unique path toward quieting the mind and living in the present.  The path exists for all of us, regardless of level of flexibility, body type, or age. Maureen’s goal for each person who joins her in class is to use breathing and asana as steps toward finding their own “middle way.”
